Shoebox Appeal
“For it is in giving that we receive.” ― Francis of Assisi
The Christmas Show Box Appeal is a national project operated by TEAM HOPE, an interdenominational Christian development aid charity operating in working with children, and through them, into their families and communities in Eastern Europe, former Soviet Union and Africa (Irish charity number CHY 14524).
TEAM HOPE organise the collection, sorting and shipment of Christmas gifts for children in need – all wrapped up in gift wrapped shoe boxes. Since its inception, over three million children in twenty four countries have received a shoebox gift, filled with love and hope – made by people just like you. From schools, business, churches, youth organisations, seniors
Inspired by the work of Cashel Lions Club who have been promoting the Christmas Show Box appeal for a number of years, Thurles Lions Club initiated this project for Christmas 2014 arranging the collection, filling and wrapping of 38 shoe boxes which were transported to Eastern Europe. The project grew for Thurles Lions Club in Christmas 2015 when the Club collected 100 shoe boxes … The need is great … upwards and onwards.
If you would like to help Thurles Lions Club on this project, please contact Eamonn on 087-6620576.
